We’re proud of our status as an employee-owned company and this year we took part in the annual Employee Ownership Day to celebrate.
Employee Ownership Day is a nation-wide celebration of employee ownership that is held each summer. We mark the day every year and this year we decided to close our office early to hold our own event to celebrate nine years of successful employee ownership. As well as treating everyone to a delicious buffet lunch, colleagues had the chance to win prizes in raffle competitions, test their knowledge in the tricky Stewart-Buchanan Gauges quiz and compete in Pressure Panic, our specially designed arcade game. The event was great fun and gave us the opportunity to mingle and spend time together without the normal pressure of work.
Employee ownership has delivered tremendous benefits to Stewart-Buchanan Gauges. We believe being co-owned has contributed to our success in recent years, with colleagues feeling more committed to the company and dedicated to manufacturing products of the highest quality to meet or even exceed the needs of our customers. This has helped us to achieve sustained growth in the last nine years and continue to develop our range of market-leading gauge and valve products.
We like to stay one step ahead and we have noticed more and more businesses move to an employee-owned model as a way of providing continued and sustainable success. It’s now the fastest growing form of business ownership in the UK and we’re delighted to be part of a sector that is contributing more and more to the success of the overall local and national economy.
