Announcing a new distribution partner in Greece

We’re delighted to announce the appointment of 2M as our new distribution partner for our valve and gauge products in Greece.

Based just outside of Athens, 2M are an established supplier of process instrumentation and fittings to customers across Greece, the Balkan region, North Africa and beyond. The Stewart-Buchanan Gauges product range fits well with their existing product offering and the requirements of their established customer base. With a reputation for excellent customer service and a strong knowledge of local markets, 2M make an excellent partner for us. Together, we can provide customers in the region with an even better level of service, with stock held locally resulting in even quicker lead times.

Stewart-Buchanan Gauges returns to Abu Dhabi for ADIPEC 2019

ADIPEC is taking place from Monday 11 to Thursday 14 November 2019

After a hugely successful event for the company last year, Stewart-Buchanan Gauges is returning to Abu Dhabi in November to exhibit at ADIPEC 2019. We’ll be promoting our full range of valve, manifold, pressure and temperature gauge products on our stand once again.

Around 145,000 delegates from over 139 countries are expected at the four-day event which is taking place from Monday 11 to Thursday 14 November. Last year, the event was so busy that exhibition opening hours were extended on the last day. We had a lot of visitors to our stand and made valuable new connections that have helped us to grow our activity in the Middle East and beyond over the last twelve months. We’re hoping to see many familiar faces again this year as well as make new connections that will cement our presence in the region for many years to come.

Russell Robinson, our Export Sales Manager, John O’Donnell, our Sales Director and Robert Baird, Marketing Manager are manning our exhibition stand for the second year running. Employee Ownership Day 2019

We’re proud of our status as an employee-owned company and this year we took part in the annual Employee Ownership Day to celebrate.

Employee Ownership Day is a nation-wide celebration of employee ownership that is held each summer. We mark the day every year and this year we decided to close our office early to hold our own event to celebrate nine years of successful employee ownership. As well as treating everyone to a delicious buffet lunch, colleagues had the chance to win prizes in raffle competitions, test their knowledge in the tricky Stewart-Buchanan Gauges quiz and compete in Pressure Panic, our specially designed arcade game. The event was great fun and gave us the opportunity to mingle and spend time together without the normal pressure of work.

Employee ownership has delivered tremendous benefits to Stewart-Buchanan Gauges. We believe being co-owned has contributed to our success in recent years, with colleagues feeling more committed to the company and dedicated to manufacturing products of the highest quality to meet or even exceed the needs of our customers. This has helped us to achieve sustained growth in the last nine years and continue to develop our range of market-leading gauge and valve products.

We like to stay one step ahead and we have noticed more and more businesses move to an employee-owned model as a way of providing continued and sustainable success. New Safety Labels for Pressure Gauges and Dial Thermometers

We’ve developed a range of easy-to-apply adhesive safety labels for use on pressure gauges and dial thermometers to make it easy to see if the readings from your instruments are within tolerance.

We’ve developed a range of easy-to-apply adhesive safety labels for use on pressure gauges and dial thermometers. The labels make it easy to see if the readings from your instruments are within tolerance, helping to improve operational safety and efficiency.

Applied onto the outside window of the instrument, they can be retro-fitted onto existing equipment making them a cost-effective and quick alternative to replacing gauges or thermometers. Easy to apply and cut where required, you can create your own scale ranges using red and green circular arcs for the instrument size. The labels are also transparent to make sure you can get an accurate reading of the values below.

Each pack contains an equal number of red and green labels. Choose from label sets for use on 63mm diameter, 100mm diameter and 150mm diameter pressure gauges and dial thermometers:

MODELS-63RGAL – for instrument size 63mm (2½inch). Pack of 12 red and 12 green labels.
MODELS-100RGAL – for instrument size 100mm (4 inch). Pack of 6 red and 6 green labels.
MODELS-150RGAL – for instrument size 150mm (6 inch). Pack of 3 red and 3 green labels.

Using high-quality adhesive material, our labels are temperature- and UV-resistant as well as resistant to most petroleum-based oils, greases and aliphatic solvents, mild acids, alkaline and salts. They are therefore suitable for use in most environments. Stable for the long term, the estimated use life of each label if it is correctly applied is roughly three to five years.

ADIPEC 2018 – building on our success in the Middle East

Held every November, the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference (ADIPEC) is the biggest Oil and Gas exhibition in the Middle East. After recently securing new clients in Dubai such as Proserv, Fortune Energy, Versatech and Petronash, we took the decision to build on our successes in the area by exhibiting at ADIPEC. Not only was it our first time at the event, it was also our first time exhibiting outside of Europe and so it represented a significant investment for us.

The Stewart-Buchanan Gauges stand was in the UK Pavilion in a great location in the main hall. Promoting our full range of valve, manifold, pressure and temperature gauge products, our team was kept very busy over the entire four days of the exhibition. With attendance high, the event organisers even extended the opening hours on the last day to give delegates a final opportunity to visit all of the exhibitors they were interested in. We generated over 250 enquiries, a high percentage of which were good quality leads from the Middle East region, plus strong interest from other parts of the world.

Many customers we spoke to already knew of the Stewart-Buchanan Gauges brand and our reputation as a high-quality manufacturer with excellent customer service. They appreciated that the company is owned by the employees, leading to greater involvement and commitment from the workforce.

Our reliable, short delivery times were also a big selling point. We heard many tales of other suppliers quoting long lead times or deliveries arriving weeks late. With 98% of our products manufactured in-house, the fact that we can reliably deliver standard orders within four weeks helped set us apart from our competitors.

The key selling points that helped to make the exhibition so successful for us were:

Stewart-Buchanan Gauges joins elite pool of JSRS Certified Suppliers to Oman

In a significant development for our business, we’re delighted to have achieved Joint Supplier Registration System (JSRS) certification as an approved supplier to Oman’s Oil and Gas industry.

Suppliers of products and services must be JSRS Certified in order to bid for tenders issued by any of Oman’s Oil and Gas Operators. JSRS is an Omani national initiative designed to streamline the procurement process. It provides a transparent marketplace for new business opportunities as well as hosting a list of all validated national and international supplier companies on a single platform.

Stewart-Buchanan Gauges has been approved as a supplier in the following five product categories:

Pressure gauges
Differential pressure gauges
Temperature gauges
Needle valves
Ball valves

With Oman’s energy sector predicted to grow strongly in the coming years, the award of JSRS certification provides us with access to exciting opportunities in an important market in the oil and gas sector.
